When I first started doing stand-up back in 2015, I quickly realized that in my region, there were hardly any German-language comedy shows.
Most open mics were in English, or they mixed different art forms – poetry, music, improv – but pure stand-up in German was almost nonexistent.
Instead of waiting for opportunities, I decided to create my own.
I began producing shows myself, booking venues, promoting events, and giving comedians a place to test new material without traveling hundreds of kilometers for just five minutes on stage.
It wasn’t easy.
Many venues refused to collaborate, marketing support was nowhere to be found, and even some local comedians preferred to travel far just to get paid mileage rather than build something new together.
But those challenges shaped me. They taught me every side of this business – from stage lights to ticket sales.
In 2023, I launched my biggest project yet: the Comedy Testcenter – a touring open mic that gave comedians a fair stage and audiences a genuine comedy experience.
The show ran successfully in 20 cities across Germany, and it became a real community project built on trust, respect, and laughter.
By the summer of 2025, I made the difficult decision to end the show.
Audiences changed, ticket sales dropped, and running everything alone eventually became unsustainable.
Still, I’m deeply grateful for everything the project gave me – every show, every laugh, and every lesson.
Even though I’m not currently producing my own events, I’ll always remain an organizer at heart.
I understand both sides of the stage – the performer’s and the producer’s – and that experience shapes how I work today.
Because in the end, it all comes down to one simple thing:
a real stage, a microphone, and people laughing together.
Someday, I hope to bring a new show to life again – one built on respect, fairness, and a genuine love for stand-up comedy.
